A great product. It holds your paperback withut stressing your hands and fingers. I would have given it a five, except it breaks when landing on a cement floor. Carpeted floors have not been a problem so far.

I bought this book caddy for my grandma who had a stroke and has difficulty holding a paperback book with her one functioning hand. She loves it!! She is flyimg thru books like crazy now. I think it would also work great to read on the beach so the wind isn't blowing you book shut.

I think what you think of this caddy will depend on why you're buying it. I think some people buy these sorts of things so that they can take books to the gym, so they can read in bed, or because they have limited ability with their hands. This won't work on a treadmill, and I can't comment on physical challenges. I'll talk about bed later. My primary reason for buying this was that I wanted to read in a more upright position. I decided I'm through with having to sit at a desk and bend my neck all the way down to read, so I've been buying a few different book holders to alleviate this problem.
For me, this ended up not being all that useful. It only fits paperbacks (though it can slightly adjust to fit different sizes of paperbacks). Because it uses paperbacks, I have to turn the page more frequently than for a non-paperback, and turning the page is kind of a hassle. It takes about 8-10 seconds for me to turn the page, and there is a constant danger of ripping or bending the pages as I try to tuck them under the plastic retainers. I find that for paperback books I'd rather just hold the book there so the pages are really easy to turn, even if it's kind of hassle to hold the book open or to bend my neck down to read. The final nail in the coffin came when I realized that my main reason for buying it wasn't that I hate holding the book open, but because I hate tilting my neck down. Considering that it's pretty easy to lean back and hold paperback up for a bit of neck rest, paperback books don't end up (for me at least) being all that hard on the neck.
It may be pointed out that paperback books must be constantly held, but I don't think this stand alleviates that problem. When I'm sitting down, I still feel like I want to hold the book and books-stand up to a better position. And if I'm in bed, while this stand holds the book open for me and props it up, I constantly have to reach up and untuck the page and retuck it under the retainer. Also, the holding position is not optimal for in-bed reading.
So I stopped using it almost immediately. The only thing I think it would be really useful for it reading while eating, but I think that audio-books are a better way to solve that problem. However, if you prefer not to listen to audio-books while eating, this might be good for you. I should mention finally that while I'm not a woman, I figure this would probably bit in a medium to large sized purse, but definitely not a small purse.
