AND DEPENDS WHERE YOUR USB HUB IS LOCATED ON YOUR LAPTOP ALSO, OF COARSE... DONT BUY... I FEEL LIKE STABBING MYSELF IN THE HEAD FOR BUYING THIS... BUT IT WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE STORE, WHY THE HELL DONT PLACES SELL LAPTOP LIGHTS ANYMORE, DO I REALLY HAVE TO TRAVEL TO FRY'S OR PAY AS MUCH FOR SHIPPING AS THE PRODUCT ITSELF? YES, BUY ITEMS WITH SUPER SAVER SHIPPING... WELL THE ONLY ONES WITH THAT ARE THE CRAPTY ONES!! LOL... Bought one today at Staples in Petaluma, CA. Didn't work at all until I read the reviews here and found out that some work only if you bend the neck. I bent it till it worked, and it illuminates about half the keyboard. Good enough, I guess, but how could any company put such a crappy product on the market, even at under $10?

Very small, not enough light, when plugged in on the side, my hands block the light.
Try your luck with some type of a long reach flexible neck.

Too little light for any practical use. I gave it to my neighbor's daughter to use on her little laptop. She was thrilled. She is 8.

The first one I received was defective on arrival. The light went on and off as you bent the neck. I got a replacement, which worked for a few months, and now the same thing is happening - the light only comes on some of the time. There is obviously a core design flaw with this product. I actually like everything else about it. Don't buy it.
