 "Best book light ever" 2009-12-19
By A. Picture (Sunnyvale, CA)
This may be the best book light ever invented. I have tried so many. Some reviewers complain about it not fitting on the book well, but show me one that does. I get around that by setting the book light in front of the book, usually on its side. I just got so tired of settling in to read and having to get up to search for batteries. This holds a charge for several days. It's awesome. You'll never need another one.

I have even taken it on short trips but one thing to keep in mind when traveling: be sure the power button will not get accidentally pressed while in transit because you will find yourself with no book light.

 "Handy little reading light" 2009-09-12
By Sue from Tellico (Tennessee)
This is the second one I bought. I lost the first one and after looking at other models decided I still liked this one the best. It is small and compact and I carried it all the time in my purse --which accounts for why I lost it! Not having to constantly buy batteries is a huge plus and the charge holds for a long time. The clamp is not the greatest to use and I oftentimes just lie the light down by the book. However, I have not found any better clamp that works with all types of books and further, I don't like the impression they often make on the paper. This book light is perfect for reading in bed when you don't want to wake your bed partner or in the car when you don't want to disturb the driver.

"Just finished another book with it." 2009-06-27

The best thing you can say about a reading light is that you forget it's there.

I forget it's there.

The array of smaller LEDs produces even lighting across two full pages, and doesn't shine in my eyes. So there's no reason to constantly adjust it. The clip doesn't seem like much, but it stays in place. It's lightweight, and reasonably compact. It packs flat, so I've taken it on vacation without the charger, and even then didn't manage to run the battery down. When on the charger it works as a mini-lamp. I've also used it as a flashlight during power outages.

For a minute I couldn't find it listed on Amazon, and thought it might have been discontinued. I'm glad to see it's still available, and will probably buy a second as a backup now, just in case.

 "Flickers!" 2009-03-14
By Cory J. Patrick (Alabama)
I have purchased two of these products. The first one I returned becaue it had a flicker that wouldn't stop. The second one still had the flicker, but it was minute. However after only a month or so the flicker has gotten so bad that I am currently searching for a replacement. If this product wouldn't flicker it would be the perfect book light. Such a shame.

"I think these things are so good, I've bought more." 2009-02-11
By demonreader (Houston, Texas)
I bought my first one of these, just in pursuit of that perfect book light. While there may be a better one out there, I haven't seen it. I have experienced a bit of flickering, though once I am in position, it seems to stop. Occasionally they will flicker while turning a page, but again, once the book is still, the flickering, if any, stops. It took a bit of getting used to the led light rather than incandescent light, but I am way past that now. I am an avid reader, thus the 'demonreader' name, and read all sorts and shapes of books. I have yet to find one that isn't sufficiently lit for reading. Usually I use the higher power setting, but really it's not necessary on regular paperbacks. I would guess that coffee table art book might be a bit too large, but really, who expects to read those with a book light? I have these in all of our travel kits, and several around the house for flashlight use. I also have a couple put aside in case these negative reviews make them become unavailable. I haven't had any fail due to breakage. I have run across a few hard cover books where I had to finagle a bit to get the clip over, but that's really my only ongoing problem. They were a godsend during our power outage from Hurricane Ike. We could take short ac breaks in the car while they charged. They are also good flashlights (interestingly, no flickering when just carrying as a light), at home and while traveling. Useful too on planes, where the overhead light isn't always targeted properly, and might inconvenience a seat mate. The charge holds up well too. I have bought them as gifts, and certainly recommend them to all and sundry.
